Balsam (Hypericum perforatum) it was a cure for the ancient Spartans, for the treatment of wounds after their battles. In addition, Dioskouridis suggested it as a diuretic, healing, emmenagogue and hemostatic.

It is also regarded as healing, antipyretic and painkiller. It is used in fight against light cases of stress, tension and insomnia. It is a very good tonic for the liver and the gall bladder.

Portion: 1 small spoon for each teacup.

The preparation of extract (tea): set the herb in a pot, add hot water and leave it covered for 5 minutes. Then drain it. If desired, add honey or sugar.

NOTICE: It would be best to avoid the daily use of the same herb for much time. But it would be wise to change among herbs.
